SASA Men's Scarab Short Sleeve T-Shirt
In Ancient Egyptian religion, the Scarab was the sacred symbol taking the form of a dung beetle (Scarabaeus sacer). This beetle was associated with the divine manifestation of the early morning sun, Khepri, whose name was written with the scarab hieroglyph and who was believed to roll the disk of the morning sun over the eastern horizon at daybreak. Scarab amulets were popular throughout the ancient world, first appearing in the Old Kingdom (c. 2575–c. 2130 BCE); although originally ornamental, by the New Kingdom (1539–1075 BCE) such amulets were found in the bandages of mummies and associated with the heart of the deceased.
