I am Leif the Lucky, son of Erik the Red, and my tale begins in Greenland where my father built our settlement. Growing up, I learned the art of navigation from studying the stars, winds, and ocean currents that my father mastered when he first found these green shores. But while my father looked away from Norway, my gaze turned even further beyond the known world. The stories had been circulating in our settlement for years. My fellow Bjarni, the merchant blown off course, claimed to have seen unknown lands west of Greenland – forested coastlines unlike anything in our known world. While he never landed, his tale filled my dreams. I purchased his ship, gathered a crew of skilled men, and set out to find these mysterious shores.
